DOES YOUR FALL TEAM WANT MORE?

Texarkana Soccer Association (TSA) is a recreational league.  All of our players are registered with the state of Arkansas (ASSA) as level one recreational players.  Registering at this level provides insurance for all players for TSA league games, scrimmages, and practices only.

If your Fall team is interested in participating in a recreational tournament, here are the steps to follow along with a few recommended tournaments.

1.    Inform the TSA Registrar that your team will need to be changed to a level 2.  (There will be an additional registration fee of $8 per player and coach due at this time)

2.    Let the TSA Game Scheduler know which day to schedule you off for your travel day(s).

3.    Download the Travel Permit and send/fax to state office ASAP.  (You will need the Host permit to fill out this form which can be found by either going to the website of the tournament you are attending or calling the tournament director.)

4.    Download ASSA Medical Release forms for players to fill out and have notarized for tournament play.

5.    When ASSA sends your level 2 roster there will also be player cards (ID cards) that will need to be signed by each player and photos attached to the back.  (These cards are required at the tournaments for player ID’s)

RECOMMENDED RECREATIONAL TOURNAMENTS

(See Website, Host permits, or call tournament director for details.)

See the "Links" page

There are also several small-sided tournaments throughout the year that are great for taking a smaller subgroup of your team.  These include Quickfoot and Got Milk.  Check Arkansas and surrounding state associations for available tournaments.

We recommend playing in "Recreational Only" tournaments (or divisions) for the best competitive match with TSA recreational teams.  When signing up for a tournament, find out as much as you can about what age group you will be playing in, and if any other than "Recreational Only" teams will be placed in your same bracket.   Rec-All Star teams can be very good, while Classic (or Select) teams can be extremely good.  It can be demoralizing for young players on recreational teams to be beaten badly by these upper level teams.  If you are interested in this level of play, please contact the TUSC League
